I wanted to make functional Art Pottery based on traditions in clay defined by the work of women, from coil pots of Pueblo Indian artists, painterly glazing of 19th c. Ohio valley and the nature based designs used by English and Scottish Arts & Crafts movement in the early years of the 20th c.
