I like to pay attention to fine detail, color and composition in my paintings. I became interested in art as a young child watching my father draw and my mother paint using oil and acrylic, and watching them bring a scene to life made a big impression on me. I use a variety of media, including ink and colored pencils, but find oil and watercolor painting the most rewarding and satisfying. My inspiration comes from many places and aspects of my life. Working in the oil and gas industry for most of my career, I have traveled extensively around the world, and lived in Africa for five years. I don’t always make a sketch before I start a project; the picture often just comes out as I imagined it should look.
