Rita Ross

I have been working in non-ferrous metals almost forty years making and teaching jewelry and sculpture. I work with an oxy-acetylene torch brazing, fusing and weaving mainly copper wire to create sculptures that look like vines. I color the metals with acid patinas and metallic paints. I was taught that emotion could be harnessed to transform raw materials into engaging art. With an attitude of persistence, curiosity, and a hot flame, I forge a relationship between memory and metal to make art!
